Austin

Geoff and I took advantage of San Jacinto day on Friday, and headed up to Austin to celebrate our Anniversary. It was so much fun, and a lot closer than we realized. It was nice because we only spent one night, so packing was a cinch.
Here Geoff is deciding which of the millions of things we were going to actually do. We're going to have to go back multiple times to see all that there is to see.
Hugh was just enjoying his double chin, I'm sure.
We started at the State Capitol and the Visitors Center. It was beautiful.
We then began to wander downtown. It was nice to just take a left and then a right and see what we could find. There were lots of upscale shops, delicious cafes, and restaurants. We just walked and walked for a long time.
We ate dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant called Bellissimo's and then went for gelato at Paciugo. It was fantastic...I mean really good.
Hugh was tuckered out by this point, but we still wanted to keep exploring. Geoff's classmate had told us that the Whole Foods in Austin was unlike all the other Whole Foods, and boy was she right. It was amazing. There were 3 levels of underground parking in addition to the regular lot to accommodate all the people. Luckily Hugh slept as we wandered through. The next morning we went to Magnolia's. Geoff loves breakfast food, and I flunk in that area, so it was fun to go somewhere new. I had gingerbread pancakes and they were fantastic! Geo had the daily special and loved it too.

On the way home I asked Geoff, "So when is our next get-away?!?"

AMPW, does your camera do the "red-eye reduction" where before it takes the picture it triggers the flash several times? Tex often looks so surprised (albeit in a very cute way) in some of the pictures.
