We loaded the car up and headed out on another carcation. Snacks for the thousands, one suitcase for all four of us and lots of story books. We were set.
(New England is so fun that way--drive three hours this way your in NYC, three hours that way, Vermont, hour this way New Hampshire, hour that way, Rhode Island etc. )
Hugh loves to drive when he knows a hotel is at the other end....so we set out all excited for a change of pace and time to just be together.
We stopped at some outdoor shops, mid afternoon. It was great fun to stroll and shop and explore a new little town. I'll have to ask GG the name of it when he gets home from work.

We dined on some delicious local pizza. It was in a tiny Brick Oven joint, and Hughie took this great photo of the two of us. ;)
This book store was our favorite stop of the day. It was huge and old and one that you could spend all day in and still find a new corner to curl up and read in. We loved it.
Next up? The hotel bed and breakfast.
