We painted our family room this weekend. It was my first time painting and so I was really excited. It only took me 6 weeks worth of trips to Home Depot to get the paint the right tone, but I think I finally got what I wanted! The only problem is...now I'm getting ideas for other rooms! (please don't tell Geoff)

I want to see the finished product! It looks great so far. I had my fair share of trips as well. FYI, Lowe's now carries mini paint cans so you can test colors. They are about $4, but they saved me a lot of money, since I bought 8 different colors till I found the right shade. They all look so different on that tiny swatch!
I hope you found a color that you loved! Way to be productive. . . me, I just started and finished a great new book! If you didn't order it let me know and I will just send it to you -- seriously!
I am sure that the new room looks great. I love painting and feeling like your house is brand new again. How about Hugh's room next?
I'm trying to convince D to repaint the living room before my parents come....in 2 weeks. Yeah I'll let ya know how that turns out! I love that color!
It does look great! Everyone I talk to says it takes forever to settle on a color, like Lindsey. I guess that's one advantage to renting, no stress in picking out wall colors because we can't paint.
I love that Sycamore Green color - I'm so impressed! I also just saw the cute video of Hugh crawling...let the baby proofing begin! :)
i cant wait to own a house so i can paint the walls...i hate white walls!! although i am sure it will be really hard to actually make a choice and i have never painted before so it will be an experience. good luck...cant wait to see the finished product!
That is such a pretty green. Everything I've painted has required at least a few trips back to the store to get it just right. Such a pain. But I bet it looks so pretty!

Don't you just LOVE painting. It is tricky to find the right shade. We just painted Erika's room pink. It turned out great, but I was so afraid that it would be too pink. P.S. I can't believe how big your little guy is getting.
