while prego, I didn't curb it at all. sad to say....but right now as I'm trying to erase the remnants from the pregoness, I try to drink a whole glass of water every time I need something. Fruit helps ALOT! plus it's super good for you! oranges have been my thing lately. or grape juice. a little sip! oh and chocolate soy milk is super good too! and better for you. a little glass does the trick.
I'm with Britt on a lot of things! Chewing gum after a meal instead of heading for dessert curbs the need for the after-sweet, for between meals when I'm not really hungry but want to munch a huge glass of water reminds me that I wasn't really hungry and it fills the belly, and for when I really AM hungry, I go for fruit or sugarless fruit smoothies (sweetened with apple juice). For me the REAL willpower comes at the grocery store. If I don't buy it, I don't have it around the house to eat it. The only treat we have at our house is otterpops for Mark to eat after dinner (because they don't tempt me)!
It's all about blood sugar control. Try having some protein and fiber (natural peanut butter on whole wheat toast, string cheese and carrots, 1/2 cup choc milk and an apple, raw almonds, "real" yogurt(not highly sweetened stuff, cottage cheese)) every 2-3 hours. This avoids dips in your blood sugar. Your body craves high calorie, high fat foods to help you get warm again and knows it as instant energy or a way to bring the sugar up. Also, try having a serving of fruit every 4 hours. Dietician Zonya (zonya.com) swears by it. Water is also a huge help- stay hydrated!

Let me know when you find out! I cannot believe your baby boy is almost here. I hope you are all doing well.
I don't. It's a disease. I think it's called addiction. But chewing gum seems to help.
Bake yams at 400* until caramelized. Eat in bulk until satisfied. :) At least that's what I did today.
