This guy came to town:(clear back on July 7th, but I've been in denial that he's gone, so it's taken me this long to blog about it.)
So we loaded up these lil' guys,
and this guy,
and headed out to explore Lexington and Concord. Can I just tell you.....Massachusetts is beautiful?!? The statue behind us is on the very ground where the Revolutionary War began. It was amazing to be there.
This is another view of that same land, with a beautiful church over looking it. Has history decided who heard the first shot???
I had to to take a picture of this building!
And the rain pushed us back into our cars--well, the rain and tired children--but we drove through the state park that shows you where Paul Revere was killed and Louisa May Alcott's home was. It was so lovely. Made me want to come home and watch Little Women all over again.
I ran up to get a picture with the house, but my photographer was too nervous to get wet--hence the lopsided photo. Who cares right? Unfortunately with Bryce, we hadn't yet discovered KIMBALL's ice cream. Come back Bryce...we'll take you!
The next day Doc Wood had to work, so after a million failed attempts to get a babysitter we packed up the boys and headed into Boston for the day. It was SPECTACULAR! so.much.fun.!!
Hugh's favorite part was riding the subway. He is glued to the window on the other side of Bryce and Graham.
Graham loved the Slurpees. Bryce and I loved the history, and the city folk that sat and stared at the police horse for a good 20 minutes, and the wandering, and the excitement of being in such an ALIVE city. Oh, and Hughie also LOVED the street performers and putting money in their buckets. :)
Next is a picture of us down town. Can't see it? Neither can I because BRYCE WON'T EMAIL ME IT!!!
Hint hint...........
It was a wonderful trip but wayyyy too quick. We could have used several more days of exploring. Come back, PLLLLEASE come back!
