Latest Read

I'm reading The Last Lecture by Randy Paush. I know most of you do Good Reads, but I don't. I couldn't figure it out the first time I tried and gave up. Anyways, this book is a fast, easy read that is fantastic! It should have been handed out with a box of kleenex attached. The author isn't dramatic, just factual. I think that's one reason I'm so captivated. Reading about a man's life that will so end helps me think over the daily blessings of my own life. Anyone else read it? Or, anyone reading anything good I could read next? I'm up for any genre!

I too loved this book. I work with cancer patients, so this book hit me close to home. I love the "elephant in the room" and I love that he read his own CT scan and was counting liver lesions and I bawled my eyes out when his wife gets on stage and says "please, don't die." Seriously, it's a great book. When I dream of getting a new car, I wonder if I could dump a can of coke on the seat, and then I think about his nephew throwing up. It is really a great book.

I am currently reading Jane Austen's Emma. Not so much a "quick" read, but great none the less. I feel like a get a lot of depth out of just a couple pages.

Oh great, I didn't know it was a tear jerker! I have it, but haven't started it yet. Being prego that will multiple my tear factor by 100!

It's the Davis Reads secondary book of the year. (What's that you ask?) And guess who passed up free dinner and lecture tickets to hear Jeffrey Zaslow tomorrow night in order to attend a stake Enrichment meeting! Where are my priorities?

I forgot about you teaching you can give me some pointers, I have to start doing actual lessons this semester and I'm scared to death! I always thought I wanted to teach third, and was in a third grade class last semester, but I love these first graders! Who knows where I'll end up by the time I"m done.
